![]() The weBoost system boosts 5G, 4G LTE and 3G cell signals for multiple users on all carriers including Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, UScellular and others. The antenna inside the cabin offers a respectable level of gain up to 10 feet, which should cover all cell phone contacts within the nav station and helm, depending on the mounting location of the cell antenna. The 29.5-inch Poynting OMNI-493 UV-stable ASA antenna produces 6 to 9 dBi of gain, while the much longer 81.9-inch RFI CDQ7199 Q-Fit fiberglass antenna puts out 4.5 to 8.5 dBi of gain. “This kit includes a high-gain outside antenna for either the RFI 82-inch Whip or the Poynting high-gain omni antenna,” explained Marketing Director Chad Steglich of Powerful Signal of Hurricane, Utah. The Marine weBoost Drive Reach Cell Signal Booster is a great example of the accessibility and power available for cell phones within 15 to 20 miles offshore. That is, unless our boat is equipped with a high-gain marine cellular antenna. You really work hard.Getting out on the boat in coastal waters can separate us from important phone calls from family and the office that we’d rather not miss. A bit of a laid back bunch it seems not always instant on the callback but the system is real and works. If interested let me know and I will dig up the contact information. You will likely not find this package on the Globalstar website. WE are on a 50 foot trawler running from Nova Scotia to Florida and some Bahamas. OH -paid about 700$ for external antenna so you do not have to stand outside and hold the phone (picky about how you hold it – not like tv – antenna UP). It has a very quick connect (one to two seconds) and very clear calls on both ends. The phone was free (some kind of refurbished deal) usage time is Unlimited (have that in writing). We have a Globalstar 1700 satellite phone. ![]() Question: Have you found anything that will take the boosted cell signal and broadcast it to the rest of the boat as a local network? Coming up empty so far. We get about 20 miles from a tower out of it. Your system – weboost + inside antenna works well. Being out on anchor can really put some distance between us and the tower, the more powerful antennas make a world of difference. The weBoost 4G-X is the main device and comes with a basic outdoor and indoor antenna…but we upgraded both antennas and highly recommend doing so. WeBoost has been our go to for over six years because we’ve found nothing that preforms as well. Plus, some claim to do the job but will only disappoint. Some are even illegal to use in certain countries. Its important to know NOT all boosters are created equal. ![]() It’s saved our butts in the Bahamas, Panama, Ecuador and now French Polynesia! I can’t tell you how many times we’ve been the only boat in the anchorage able to make calls or get online. It’s the difference of being able to work from the comfort of our traveling home or having to go into town and find somewhere with wifi. ![]() It’s amazing how many times this booster has taken us from no bars to 3 bars or from no data signal to 3g or 4g. Meaning it can help improve the quality of our calls and the speeds of our data. It works by boosting cell signals up to 32x and enhances 4G LTE and 3G signals. This is how we boost our cell and data signal inside the sailboat (same brand we used in the RV too). ![]()
